5 weeks that I've gone without a cigarette that is. It feels good. It feels good to know that I will live that much longer. It feels good keeping the money I would have spent, around $13 a pack here in New York, in my pocket. It feels good that I don't have to answer to an addiction anymore. For years my mother has been asking me to quit. It started with a simple request then it was pictures and newspaper articles that she'd cut out. My youngest cousin sent me cards and letters begging me to stop smoking. None of those things worked. It wasn't until I got married that I got serious about quitting. Thanks to my loving wife Alison (and the miracle that is the patch) I am a non-smoker.
